THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Reader questions religious following

I wonder how many people remember the loyalty felt by most Americans during World War II? Remember the signs “Loose lips sink ships,” the savings stamp sales at school, rationing of gas, shoes, sugar, meat and other things?

Nylons were not available. A man was arrested in Muskogee for using an American flag as a drop cloth while painting a porch at the corner of 27th Street and West Broadway. This would probably be classified as free speech now. The American Japanese were rounded up and held in camps. Then in later years, the Communist party was considered subversive.

My question is why isn’t the Islamic religion considered subversive? This is a dangerous religion and we should consider treating them the same as other radical groups.

Where do they get the funds to build their mosques? Are the funds raised locally or provided by an Islamic country?

I know I will be branded as a radical, hate-mongering, Bible-thumping Christian, but so be it. I do not believe my faith is the only true faith, like the Koran states of theirs in Surah 3:19.

The doctor teaching insight to the Muslim culture at NSC Network says it is a peaceful religion.

Remember the Marine barracks in Lebanon, the USS Cole, Pan Am Flight 103, Daniel Pearl, Salman Rushdie, the fatwas issued by Islamic clerics and most of all, the World Trade Center?
