So now we are to believe that the 30 elderly, white Republican men who voted against Sen. Al Franken’s bill to protect a rape victim did so because that law was just a ploy for trial lawyers.
Really?
Then I guess the votes against that bill were simply to protect Halliburton, the true overlord of the Republicans.
What the Republicans really voted against was the fundamental, constitutional right of an American citizen to pursue justice for a crime committed against her. I guess, to them, she didn’t really matter. She was just a woman who was brutally gang raped.
President Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex. Gen. Colin Powell warned of the terrorism industrial complex, but the Republicans turned a deaf ear. They know who funds their party, Haliburton, KBR, Dynacorp, etc.
They could care less about the people in their states or their districts. Those are poor people who can’t contribute to their campaigns.
Why should they be protected? Why should they have a voice? Why should they have health care?
They shouldn’t, and they won’t if the Republicans have their way.
