THE PEOPLE SPEAK: No-bidders need to be held accountable

Some people think there should be more press coverage of ACORN. Some even think there should be a congressional investigation.

Yeah, right after we have an investigation of Blackwater, Halliburton, KBR, DynaCorp and Armor Group.

With the cooperation of the Bush/Cheney regime these companies obtained billions in no bid contracts for work in Iraq and Afghanistan. Much of the work was never done and some of it was so shoddy it caused the deaths of American service members. One of these companies even operated a prostitution business.

ACORN gets very little of its funds from the government, certainly nothing compared to Blackwater, Halliburton, KBR, etc. But the Republicans, and their minions on Fox News, are acting as if it is some enormous amount of money. Two Republican governors, Tim Pawlenty and Bobby Jindal, even went so far as to issue grandiose statements ordering their states to stop funding ACORN. Guess what, geniuses, your states don’t provide any funds to ACORN.

ACORN has made its mistakes, but we all have. ACORN became the target of the Republicans because they tried to help poor people. We all know the Republicans abhor doing anything for the less fortunate. Then ACORN committed the ultimate Republican sin by registering poor people to vote. Imagine giving poor people a voice in this country!

Hell ain’t hot enough for those thugs at Blackwater, Halliburton, KBR, Dynacorp and Armor Group. They cheated American taxpayers and betrayed our service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. They should be investigated immediately.

Maybe I’ll call Glenn Beck about it. If he’s not in the middle of one of his crying jags, I bet he’ll get right on it.
