THANK YOU
THANK YOU
COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXPRESS their heart-filled thanks to area organizations which contributed to the success of the sixth annual Muskogee Veterans Parade. We believe this was the best year so far. It would not have been a success if not for the public coming out to support the parade as well. There is no better reason to have a celebration that recognizes and praises our men and women who have served their country. It was an honor to serve you. The winners of the cash awards were first place, $500, Muskogee Civitan; second place, $300, Charlotte Redbird; and third place, $200, American Legion Post No. 40, Vinita. Thanks to all who participated and see you next year. Muskogee Veterans Parade committee 2009
MUSKOGEE COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUG Network thanks the Muskogee Police Department for its hard work on the Medicine Cabinet Clean Out Event. Also, thank you to the many Muskogee citizens who made the event a great success. We disposed of more than 53,000 unwanted or expired prescription drugs. Thank you to the wonderful group of sponsors: Muskogee Weed and Seed, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and the Bedouin Shrine Temple of Muskogee. Their sponsorship helped make the event possible. All of the hard work and counting is very much appreciated Members of Muskogee Community Anti-Drug Network
TO MY RESCUERS on the Homeland parking lot: On Oct. 30, I fell on the Homeland (west side) parking lot. When I came to my senses, I was being put in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. So much of this is hazy, but I do want to thank those of you who helped me. May the Lord bless you all. Virginia Lipotich

THE FAMILY OF Evelyn Dunkelberger expresses our appreciation to Mayor John Tyler Hammons for his part in making Evelyn’s 100th birthday an even more special day. Hammons made a personal appearance and presented Evelyn with some special words and a Key to the City. Evelyn still remembers “that young man that was so nice.” Again, thank you, Mayor, for taking time from what must be a busy life and sharing yourself and the gift with Evelyn and all who attended her party. Sometimes leadership shows up in the little things we do to share a little joy with others. Robert Dunkelberger
THANKS, OWENS-ILLINOIS, for another great Retirees’ Day. Last week’s day was well attended. I know we speak for everybody. We certainly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with the many retirees and some of the current employees. Special thanks to Hubie Lontz, plant manager, and the steering committee for providing the room, along with delicious refreshments, T-shirts, caps and door prizes. What a great day. Ann Avery and Gail Roberts, retired
