THANK YOU

THANK YOU

WE EXTEND A heartfelt and special thank you to all who worked so hard and long to make the Veterans’ Day Memorial and unveiling of the World War II veterans monument honoring the past and present veterans of Braggs a huge success. Always remember our veterans. We also thank each one who participated in the memorial. It was a great day and a beautiful ceremony enjoyed by all. Wilma Burris Coffman, Ayline Blair, Bob Burris and Dwayne Burris

THE MUSKOGEE HIGH School Chorus, which performed “The Star Spangled Banner” and a medley of patriotic songs at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery celebration on Veterans’ Day was one of the best we have ever heard. Thank you so much for coming and participating in that event to honor our country and veterans. The whole program was great, but you made it super. C. W. (Bud) and Dorothy Boyd

WOMEN WHO CARE thanks the many citizens of Muskogee who made October a great month for those who have survived Breast Cancer and for those yet to be diagnosed. Women Who Care is a local nonprofit, which funds mammograms for those ladies who cannot afford them. We believe that having a mammogram will save your life and that every woman should have the opportunity for this simple, but expensive, screening. Thanks to the wonderful group that sponsors the luncheon each October at Arrowhead Mall. They work hard to make it a great event and Women Who Care receives the benefit. Julie Ledbetter is a passionate, committed leader of this effort. Bacone Radiography Program has always been great supporters. Thanks to the survivors who model and to Lee Ann Taylor for being the mistress of ceremonies. The event had great sponsors and all are thanked. It was our pleasure to help honor our sister, Rusti Shields, who fought with great grace and courage. The board of Women Who Care: Cassandra Gaines, Muriel Saunders, Diane Walden, Wren Stratton, Leisha Haworth, Cheri Fite

WE THANK EVERYONE who attended and participated in the first Braggs Veterans Day community ceremony. We dedicated a World War II memorial monument, the first of several war monuments that will be in the Veterans Memorial Park in Braggs. According to Gene Haynes of Heavener, over 300 people were in attendance, many from out of town and several from other states. We thank Doug Feagan from Union Pacific Railroad. He has been instrumental working with the Braggs History Project and the town of Braggs on the park site. A special thank you to everyone who purchases the Braggs history books, as the profits pay for the war monuments. Pat Isbell, Fran Barker, Renella Capps, Fay Ellis, Bev Reynolds

I THANK THE principal, teachers and staff at Hilldale Elementary for their great Veterans’ Day tribute. My second-grade grandson, Dayton Field, introduced me to his schoolmates. At that moment it struck me that but for our veterans, I would not have had the glorious opportunity. Thanks for reminding our kids of the importance of honoring those that protect us. Dan Morris

WE THANK ALL of the people who supported and donated toward the Oktaha Tigers Baseball championship rings and replica plaques. Over $4,000 was donated to help offset the $7,500 cost. We offer a special thanks to Charlie’s Chicken of Fort Gibson for donating and catering the food for the fundraising banquet. Oktaha Tigers Baseball team
