So John McCain picks his running mate, Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin, and immediately the liberals start showing their true colors.
The vile and slanderous things I have seen on MSNBC and read in a few blogs should be an affront to women everywhere. The ever bombastic Keith Olbermann began his show the other night ridiculing Palin as a dimwitted beauty queen whose major experience was being a point guard on her high school basketball team and mayor of a small town. On that same show I might add, disturbed filmmaker Michael Moore proclaimed, “Hurricane Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven. To have it planned at the same time, I mean, yeah, that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention.”
I ask you, how sick is that? Is this the mind set we want behind the people running our country? Heaven forbid!
Many spokespersons in the Democratic Party, that supposedly champion women's rights, are now portraying Palin as a ditzy, gun-toting, moose-eating beauty queen with no qualifications to be president. MSNBC, the bastion of liberal bias, is attacking McCain for putting a woman on the ticket while at the same time claiming to be the purveyors of equal rights.
As for qualifications, I have to say of Republicans that they too are guilty saying Sen. Barack Obama isn’t qualified. To say that anyone isn’t qualified to be president leads me to ask, exactly what are the qualifications? The answer is in the U.S. Constitution.
“Age and Citizenship requirements — US Constitution, Article II, Section 1.
“No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
This applies to Palin, Obama or any natural born citizen of the United States who wishes to run for that high office.
