Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The word is out. Rumor has it that certain elected persons who call themselves representatives of the people are threatening to gerrymander established voting districts so that portions (geographic areas) of the sovereign state in which they reside will not have voting privileges or those voting for a particular candidate will not count.
There is a word for that kind of action, USURP. Ultimately that kind of action would bypass or circumvent the long-established constitutional function of the Electoral College. Those elected persons are saying they will break the tradition so they can fix it to their twisted political advantage. Hopefully, that will not happen.
Can our form of government withstand that breach of trust and confidence Americans have worked so hard to preserve? Are we, as law-biding citizens, willing to sacrifice the right to vote for something that tears at the very heart of our country and freedom? Where do you, the reader, stand?
