Thank you - 11.24.12

— THE FAMILY of Sherry Jenkins Howard would like to take this opportunity to express our very deepest gratitude and appreciation to the community for all their prayers, support, and encouragement during this most difficult time.

Thank you for the calls, visits, food, flowers and many other gestures of friendship and compassion. So many have reached out to comfort our family during this great time of loss; our family is truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and sympathy!

Please know that we appreciate each and every card, story, and word of encouragement. Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude for your outpouring of love and kindness. Thank you so very much and may God bless each and everyone of you.

A Big Thanks!  The Community Team of the Community Circles initiative sponsored by the City of Muskogee Foundation would like to extend its thanks to the following churches and community organizations who have provided a simple meal for an average of 50 community investigators, their families, child care staff and community volunteers involved in the Getting Ahead Initiative:

The Cross Church; St Paul United Methodist Church;  Timothy Baptist Church, Christian Women’s Job Corps; Timothy Baptist Church, Men’s Group; First Presbyterian Church; Soroptimist International of Muskogee; Youth Volunteer Corps; Muskogee Wellness Initiative.

The goal of this initiative is to help families investigate root causes of poverty and make plans of how to move their families out of poverty situations.  This is an on-going effort and we will continue to need meals from the community as the initiative continues.

To secure a date to provide a meal: Johni Wardwell (918) 360-0803 or Jan Wilkerson (918) 680-0519.
