THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Too much government needs more opposition

Every new day seems to bring more bad news. The politicians in Washington, marching to President Obama’s orders, are systematically destroying the very foundation our country was founded upon.

The citizens of the United States are guaranteed the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, yet Congress is burying us under mountains of generational debt in the guise of “stimulating” the economy. As our government expands, our freedoms decrease.

Do you support the government’s ownership of private companies? Talk to the over 700 Chrysler dealers whose business this administration shut down. Can you imagine spending your life building a successful business only to have the government force you to close your doors?

Do you condone borrowing billions of dollars from your children’s (and even yet to be born grandchildren’s) futures? How irresponsible and extremely selfish is that? When times get tough, you tighten your belt. When you don’t have enough money, you cut back on spending.

It is unbelievable to me that true Americans will just stand by and watch this happen to our country. If you are among the outraged, come join me at the Independence Day Tea Party to let your voice be heard.

Today from 10 a.m. to noon concerned citizens and fellow patriots will gather at Civitan Park to re-declare our independence from an over-reaching, bureaucratic, power-hungry government. Will you be there?

Go to www.teapartymuskogee.com for more information and learn how you can fight back.
