Braggs hoops settles for split

— BRAGGS — Payton York scored a game-high 23 points as the Wildcats topped Indianola 71-30 in boys high school basketball action at the Braggs gym on Thursday night. Braggs improved to 3-1 for the season.

Brannon Stanfill scored 12 and Brodey Igert added 10 points.

The Lady Wildcats (1-3), though were not as fortunate, outscored 15-10 in the fourth in losing 45-40. Riley Beasley, Jessi Harris and Lauren Burk scored 10 points each. Kristen Perry grabbed 13 rebounds, while Hannah Mackey had six steals and five assists.

Braggs returns to the court on Tuesday in a doubleheader against Union Christian at Fort Smith, Ark. The girls play at 6:30 p.m. and the boys at 8.
