Three area wrestlers were honored with All-State selections as the voting results were announced Friday by the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
Muskogee’s Nigel Harris at 220 pounds was selected to the Large East team. Rowdy Simon of Vian at 195 and Tre Locust of Vian at 220, who both lost in the Class 3A finals, made the Small East team.
Fort Gibson’s Andrew Brestel, who lost in the 4A finals, and Wagoner’s Travis Greer were All-Star selections in Class 4A as was the Muskogee trio of Joe Andrews at 170 pounds, Haden Kolmer at 182 pounds and Tristan Watson at 285 pounds in Class 6A.
Vian’s Landon Decker and Cale Hayes were named All-Stars in Class 3A at 160 and 195 pounds, respectively. All-State recognizes seniors only.
All-state wrestling will be July 31 at Bixby High School.
