All-State slowpitch held

— NORMAN – The Large East team suffered a 30-13 setback in the annual Oklahoma Slowpitch Softball Coaches Association All-State game at Marita Hynes Field in Norman on Saturday.

Coco Epps, Muskogee’s lone representative on the Large East squad, was 0-for-2 with an RBI. Tahlequah’s Jenna Reed and Jessica Blalock both had two hits, while Blalock pitched and held the West offense to four runs in three innings of work.

The Middle East squad was also the victim of the team from the West, falling 16-8.

Oktaha’s Bailey Masterson was 2-for-3 with a home run and pitched three innings while teammate Lauryne Dester was 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run. Hulbert’s Makayla Young was 1-for-2 while Vian’s Chelsi Drew was 1-for-3 and Vian’s Brooke Stidham was hitless in two trips to the plate.
