Beaver home: Room with a view

They said it couldn’t be done — to build a two-story home so close to the bluffs that cascade into a west bank of Fort Gibson Lake.

But Mike Beaver and builder Jack Rhodes did it anyway, plunging foundation piers as deep as 6 1/2 feet

into the solid rock to support the 3,600-square-foot, five bedroom home. Beaver has but one reason to attempt such an engineering feat.

“It’s truly all about the view,” Beaver said.
