Fort Gibson High School Band Director LaNell Spyres said 10 band students participated recently in the Eastern District Honor Band held at Tahlequah High School Jan. 11-12.
They rehearsed with other band students from the Eastern District Band Association and presented a concert at the Tahlequah Performing Arts Center. Middle school students were Adriana Salinas — clarinet, left, Maria Hernandez — baritone saxophone, Mikah Spyres — French horn, Hannah Hackworth — alto saxophone, and Chris Drake — tuba.
High school students that were selected for the band were Erin Michael — bass clarinet, left, Shelby Jackson — oboe, Lauren Martin — tenor saxophone, Derek Cookson — bassoon, and Anna White — flute.
