March genealogy meeting set

— The Fort Gibson Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. March 11 for its monthly meeting at the United Methodist church.

This month will feature finger foods and desserts, as it allows the group to have more time to do research and listen to our speaker.

Are you stuck in your quest? Mickey Hagan, our vice-president and program chairman, will be in charge of the meeting and would like to get everyone started on their quest to find out about their ancestors and how to put it down on paper.

Hagan has been on many trips to find out about her ancestors and is still searching. She has 38 books on her families. She would like for everyone to bring all the surnames you are searching for. She has discovered many ways to find out about your families and will share them with you.

Some may have old pictures to share. Bring your papers and come join us as we share how to get started or how to get more information.

The genealogy library will be open at 5 p.m.

Information or ride: Marcia Elliott, (918) 478-3345 or Mable Taylor, (918) 478-3845.
