Over a cup

It likely wasn’t a difficult choice for the Fort Gibson Chamber of Commerce to decide what to feature on their Christmas ornament this year.

The J.C. Berd Building at Lee and Poplar Streets is an icon for the town.

There’s more to Fort Gibson than its history, however.

We would like to hear from our readers about what they like best about Fort Gibson and the surrounding area and what Fort Gibson residents or former residents they admire most.

We will feature your stories of what you like best about the community in upcoming Over a Cup columns and use your stories about Fort Gibson people for future feature stories.

If you have comments about the community, send them to Fort Gibson Times, P.O. Box 1968, Muskogee, OK 74402, or contact Liz McMahan at 684-2926 or lmcmahan@muskogeephoenix.com.

By the way, the Christmas ornaments with the Berd building drawing are available from the chamber, at SonBurst Graphics, Scott’s Pharmacy and Granny’s Porch.
