The Fort Gibson Genealogical and Historical Society will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at the United Methodist Church in Fort Gibson.
The fiscal year 2012-2013 for the society began on July and the dues for the coming year are due. Officers were elected in July and no meeting was held in August.
Wally Waits, program chairperson, wants to hear about each person’s summer accomplishments. How did everyone fare in the 100 degree temperature. Did someone travel or make a new discovery? We welcome visitors.
Additionally, there is a meeting scheduled at 7 p.m. in another part of the church on Human Trafficking with Rev. Cydni Tillery as speaker. The firemen and policemen have been invited.
The meal will be finger foods, drinks and desserts. The Genealogy Library will be open at 5 p.m. for research.
Information or ride: Marcia Elliott, (918) 478-3345 or Mable Taylor, (918) 478-3845.
