A.M. UPDATE: Fort Gibson skate park closed until further notice

The Fort Gibson skate park has been closed temporarily because of excessive littering, said Fort Gibson Police Chief Clint Vernon.

The town's trespassing ordinance will be enforced during the time the area is closed.

Trash cans are provided, but not being used, he said. Additionally, the park is a smoke-free and pet-free area and those rules are not being followed.

Once the skate park area is reopened, it will be monitored and closed again if the problem isn't corrected, Vernon said.
