Students awarded scholarships
The Muskogee OU Alumni Club recently awarded scholarships to nine area Muskogee County Seniors.
Included from Fort Gibson High School was Kayla Fears, daughter of Ken and Robin Fears.
She received a $2,000 scholarship for the 2009-10 school year.
Fears has been accepted by the University of Oklahoma and are enrolled for the fall 2009 semester.

Office closed for mission work
The office of Dr. Frank Evans will be closed from Friday through June 28 while the doctor is in Vietnam as a member of a health care mission team.
Staff will be in the office periodically to respond to messages and refer emergencies.
Parade entries sought
Entries are being accepted for the Corn Festival parade to be held at 6:30 p.m. June 26, said Gary Perkins, parade chairman.
Pre-entry forms are available at the Fort Gibson Chamber of Commerce office or entrants may just show up at the lineup at 5:30 p.m.
There is no entry fee and no theme for the parade, Perkins said.
The parade and festival opening ceremonies will be followed with a free fireworks show, Perkins said.
