Hearts Club flea market set
The Hearts Club of Fort Gibson will hold a flea market at the old high school May 2.
Proceeds will help pay for the Christmas tree at Centennial park.
Genealogy group workshop-bound
The Fort Gibson Genealogy and Historical Society will be going to a workshop at the Muskogee Public Library on Saturday instead of holding its regular meeting in May.
This is a free workshop that the Muskogee Genealogical Group is putting on. The speakers are Sue Tolbert, Barbara Downs, Stacy Blondell, Nancy Calhoun and Wally Waits. Debt-free Living course offered
Michael Harris, a certified seminar leader and teacher, will offer a workshop showing a proven way of achieving complete debt freedom with the money you already make.
You will find learn:
• How to eliminate all debts in five to 10 years.
• Dramatically improve your credit score.
• Develop a cash-only spending plan.
• Safely build retirement wealth with money you're wasting on debt payments.
The workshop is on 6-8 p.m. May 5 in the North Educational Building, 500 S. Ross St. Registration is $24, which includes workbook and software.

Corn recipes sought for book
May 15 is the deadline for submitting recipes for a special cookbook being assembled for Fort Gibson’s Corn Festival, said Debby Daniels.
Recipes may be submitted in any of several recipe categories, including appetizers, beverage, main dishes, soups, salads, breads, rolls, vegetables and desserts, Daniels said.
The “Fort Gibson Corn Festival Cookbook” will be sold at the festival on June 26 and 27, with proceeds going toward the town’s sports complex.
Recipe forms are available the Town Hall and completed forms may be left there or mailed to Daniels at P.O. Box 218, Fort Gibson, 74434.
