Tommy “Brian” McKinzie, a 1990 graduate of Fort Gibson High School, was deployed in March to Balad Air Base, Iraq, where he will serve six months as a member of the 732nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, Detachment 6.
McKinzie has served in the Air Force since 1992 and holds the rank of Tech. Sgt. His oldest son, Chris, lives in Fort Gibson and works for his grandparents, Tommy and Diane McKinzie at their business, Diebold's Tree Service.
An article about his unit appeared in Air Force Print News Web site and can be accessed at http://www.balad.afnews.af.mil/news/story_print.asp?id=123089479. It explains what his detachment's duties are while serving in Iraq, a family member said.
