Dr. Wayne Ballard, left, a 1981 graduate of Fort Gibson High School and associate professor of religion at Carson-Newman University graduated Dec. 14 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Ph.D. in higher education administration. Ballard is married to wife Kim, a music teacher at Carter Elementary School. They have two sons Brack, a senior at Carson-Newman, and Zachary, a freshman at Carson-Newman. Ballard’s dissertation is titled, “An Analysis of the Values & Spirituality Profiles of College and University Presidents by Carnegie Classification” under the direction of Dr. Grady Bogue, pictured right. Ballard has published or co-published several books and journal articles.
