The Muskogee Area Branch of Oklahoma Music Teachers’ Association sponsored its annual Junior Competition for students in grades 3–8 on Nov. 3.
The competition was held at the Muskogee Public Library. The winners were chosen to play on the East District Conference program, which will be held at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee on Saturday.
Representing grades 3 and 4 will be John Mark Jardine. The alternate is Trenten Martin.
Representing grades 5 and 6 will be Meredith Gilmartin, and the alternate is Lydia Harlin.
All are students of Nancy Shelton.
The winner for grades 7 and 8 is Jeramy Hunter, and the alternate is Brenden Martin, both students of Shelton. Receiving honorable mention in this category were Lydia King, student of Grace Jones, and David Harlin, student of Shelton.
Others participating were Sara Wilson, Camryn Runyan, and Rachel Throgmorton.
