Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to hold kickoff rally on Nov. 8

— The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Muskogee County will hold a kickoff rally at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Roxy Theater.

The 2013 Relay For Life Committee is inviting everyone in the community to come out and learn what the American Cancer Society has to offer Muskogee. The rally will feature guest speaker Michelle Brown from the Relay for Life Regional Council as well as a short performance by local Muskogee youth.

Information about the local Relay for Life will be provided, including how to be involved by volunteering, having a team, participating in survivor activities, or becoming a sponsor. This also will be the first opportunity to register a team for the overnight event to be held on May 3-4, 2013, at Indian Bowl.

The world’s largest grassroots fundraising movement, Relay For Life mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and provide participants with an opportunity to fight back against the disease, according to a media release.

For information on joining the Relay For Life of Muskogee County, call (800) 227-2345, (918) 781-9864, or email muskogeerelay@gmail.com. Information also is available online at RelayForLife.org
