Freedmen descendants meet

The Descendants of Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes Association and their supporters will gather for a Christmas luncheon at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Luther King Center, 626 N. Third St.

Bring a covered dish. Everyone is welcome. Following the meal, the president will lead a question and answer session regarding the association and/or current events in Washington, D.C., affecting the rights of the descendants of Freedmen tribal members.
