The Musical Arts Society will present Muskogee A Cappella in concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul United Methodist Church sanctuary. The program is free and all are welcome.
This program of a cappella Christmas music will include such favorites as “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” “Deck the Halls,” “Carol of the Bells,” “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen,” “Mary Had a Baby” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
Muskogee A Cappella was formed in 1994 by local musicians who appreciate the a cappella genre of music, especially the madrigals and motets of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Since that time, the repertoire has expanded to include vocal jazz, and modern sacred and secular classical works.
Through the years the group has performed for civic organizations, such as the Kelly B. Todd Christmas Tour, churches and businesses.
