Hope Chapter 401

A Thanksgiving dinner will precede the meeting of Hope Chapter 401, Order of the Eastern Star at 6 p.m. today at the Masonic Temple, 121 S. Sixth St.

Officers of Hope Chapter 401, Order of the Eastern Star, Muskogee, were installed on Nov. 14 by Leatrice Massey, worthy grand matron, and Michael Rapp, worthy grand patron. They were assisted by Ann Kinser of Checotah; Edwina McClure of Tulsa; Beth Melrose of Checotah, and Dee Linvill of Wagoner.

The following members were installed: Susan Mills, worthy matron; Harold Hooper, worthy patron; Jean Temple, associate matron; Ray Temple, associate patron; Mary Downing, treasurer; Amanda Jenkins, conductress; Jennifer Thompson, associate conductress; Betty Hooper, chaplain; Susan Young, marshal; Charlene Pickett, organist; Diana Mashburn, Adah; Karen Hobbs, Martha; LaVera Majors, Electa; Richard Hobbs, warder, and Glenn Young, sentinel.

Linda Kizzia, secretary; Diana Walters, Ruth; and Jewell Stiger, Esther; will be installed at a later date.

An emblem presentation, written and narrated by Jennie Walters, grand lecturer, preceded the installation.

Hope Chapter meets at 7:30 p.m., the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Masonic Temple, 121 S. Sixth St. All Eastern Star members are welcome.



Toastmasters

Paulette Lorsbach, Advanced Toastmaster Gold, was the emcee for the regularly scheduled meeting of Toastmasters. This club formerly met in Wagoner, and has now moved its meeting to 6 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church, Sixth and Court streets. There will be no meeting on Thanksgiving day. Meetings will resume Dec. 3.

Toastmasters is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance public speaking, leadersip and listening skills. This is accomplished in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Information: 577-5783 or 687-8887.
