Lisa Logan, owner/director of Show Biz Dance Studio in Muskogee, announces the outstanding achievement of one of the dance groups taught and choreographed by instructor, Laura Hazen.
The seven-member group competed in the jazz category to the song, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That,” at Stage One Productions Regional Finals in Tulsa. At that competition the group was honored with the following awards: High first gold trophy in the teenage division for small group/jazz dance, and fifth place in high points overall in the teen division. The group qualified for national finals held in June at the Branson Convention Center in Branson, Mo.
Company members are Danielle Murphy, daughter or Danny and Mandy Murphy; Tabytha Russell, daughter of David and Candi Russell; Emma Grooms, daughter of Guy and Grace Grooms; Madison Greenwood, daughter of Charlotte Greenwood; Kelcie Farley, daughter of Charlie and Terry Farley; Duan Morris, son of Lenette Gunn; and Lyndsey Hargrove, daughter of Linda Hargrove.
At the national level, the group won a high first place gold trophy in the 14/15-year-old teenage small group/jazz division and took sixth place in high points overall in the teen division.
In previous years, this group has attended regional and nationals with Star Power Dance Competition, Odyssey Dance Competition and Rainbow Dance Competition and won first place and overall in jazz, tap, lyrical ballet, clog and musical theater.
