After a nationwide search and interview process, St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2130 W. Okmulgee Ave., introduces Kaycee Young as the director of youth and FUEL Ministries.
She began Nov. 1. Young brings a wide range of talent and experience to the job, according to a media release. She is an experienced vocal performer and holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from Northeastern State University and Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Texas. She has performed with many different vocal groups in Oklahoma and Texas. She has been a contemporary worship leader and assisted in the leadership of contemporary worship in two churches.
Young has a broad range of experience in youth work, according to the release. She began her work with youth as a youth director. She has since served as a choir director in the United Methodist church and teaching/managing junior high and high school choir programs in schools in Texas.
She shared in the interview process that she likes to build relationships with youth by sharing in the lives of youth like visiting their schools at lunch and attending their extra-curricular activities.
