Group to perform Saturday night

Lauren Lee and Liberty Road will perform during Saturday Night Spotlight Live at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Roxy theater.

The band includes Lauren, Sawyer and Robbie Lee of Holdenville, and Jerry Dilday, the bass player from Wetumka. It will be their first performance in Muskogee.

Program Director Michael Anthamatten is excited about the show and hopes people will come out to “catch a rising star.”

Lauren Lee and her brother, Sawyer, have been playing fiddle and guitar together since they were 10 and 13, according to a media release. Their music has been built upon a foundation in Texas-style fiddling. Their father, Robbie, now adds percussion and family friend, Dilday, contributes original songs and plays bass. The results are a great mix of contemporary folk with bluegrass style.

“We are looking forward to playing in your community and hope to be well received and return for future performances in your area,” said Raynita Lee, the group’s manager.

“We received an amazing review in Maverick/UK. It is a wonderful publication and considered the voice of country, folk, bluegrass and roots music,” Lee said. “They reviewed our newest CD, ‘2nd Floor,’ which we released earlier this year on Four Count Records.”

Lauren Lee and Liberty Road’s music is Ella Fitzgerald to Alison Krauss and Union Station with fiddle and guitar combined with vocals, according to a media release.
