The Courtyard Bistro hosts holiday open house

The Courtyard Bistro and Market will have its second annual Holiday Open House from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at 1115 E. Poplar, in Fort Gibson.

“Come join us for an evening of holiday shopping,” said Sondra Hardin, owner.

The Courtyard is a restaurant in the setting of a tearoom/bistro that has a market attached, according to a media release. The market is full of booths rented to local entrepreneurs. Linda Bockius, a retired school counselor, has a booth with zebra print purses, fleur-de-lis jewelry and T-shirts, Ed Hardy purses, and Christmas tablecloths. Tammy Delmedico, a school teacher, offers Longaberger Baskets and other special items. Toni Armstrong, a local businesswoman, offers Avon products that are cash and carry. You will see a lot of the jewelry, perfume, and bath and body products from the Avon catalogs. Lisa Mosteller, a nurse, is showing off all of her wedding items like albums, Mr./Mrs robes, party camera, and more. Tanya Wallace, homemaker, has antique round pedestal tables, zebra baby fleece blankets, large stone rings, and home decor. Alice Townsend and her mother have teamed up to design toile aprons. They also feature initials for that special room and designer clipboards. Tera Shores and Carrie Cox joined talents and offer zebra print diaper bags that have all the bells and whistles, including matching baby wipe container, burp cloth and pad.

Beverly Hammonds has a booth with antique clocks, dishes and glassware. There is also a room of handcrafted folk art by local girls — Annette (Perry) Jones and Amy (Perry) Gower. Their tapestries are set with popular verses.

“As always, we will have our special label fruit salsa and jellies/jams,” Hardin said. “On this special evening most of these entrepreneurs will be offering special discounts such as 20 percent off, free gift with a purchase, that are good for this evening only. We will also be sampling items from our bistro which serves gourmet sandwiches, homemade soups and desserts.”
