Kiwanis Club
Darryl Maggard, 911 coordinator for Muskogee City/County, will be the speaker when the Muskogee Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesday at Muskogee Community Hospital training center, 2900 N. Main St.
New officers for 2009-10 effective Oct. 1 are Mike Stewart, president; T. J. Ellis, past president; Michael McGill, president- elect; Dan Clem, secretary; and Duane Pickle, treasurer.

Muskogee
New Friends
Muskogee New Friends Daytime Bridge group will meet at noon Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 518 Houston St. Cookies and drinks will be available. Reservations are a must. Call Ora Mae Piester by noon Monday.
The club will volunteer for the blood drive Thursday. Call Pat Adams at 687-5739 for information or to volunteer.
The board meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Odd Fellows building. Board members must attend. In unable to attend, call Pat Miller, 683-4819.
Beta Sigma Phi
Omicron Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met in the home of Laura Roets for the October meeting.
Alice Lowe, president, called the meeting to order with the opening ritual. Charlotte Watkins called the roll and read the minutes. The minutes were approved as read. Roets gave the treasurer’s report.
Lowe reported she was notified from international that the chapter had qualified as a three-star chapter. As requested at the last meeting, all members brought diapers and baby wipes for the Baby Basket at Trinity Methodist Church.
A new member, Thelma Terrell, was welcomed to the chapter.
The program for the evening was presented by Roets and Debbie Schrader on genealogy. They discussed how and what programs to search on the computer. Handouts with further information were handed out.
The social for October was at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the home of Debbie Schrader.
The November meeting will be in the home of Dolores Seward. The communication chairperson will contact each member with information or any changes.
Duplicate Bridge
Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd.
On Oct. 26 and Friday, special team games were held honoring Jane Johnson of the American Contract Bridge League. Coveted gold points were won.
Winners on Oct. 26 were: Linda Darter, Marvin Darter, Jimmy Young, and Judy Stallings, from the McAlester club, first; Pat Smaby, Lou Stouse, Judy Goodyear and LaDeen Gordon, of the McAlester club, second; Ruth Sharpe, Dave Murdock, Joan Chapman and Carol Ketchum, third.
On Friday, the team winners were: Dave Murdock, Linda Stearns, Carol Ketchum and Santa McWilliams, first; Mary Smith, Ralph Parker, Don and Jan Storbeck, second; Fran Martin, Joan Chapman, Ann Kent and Ann Kuykendall, third. Wednesday winners were: North-south, Norma Kolmer and Linda Stearns, first; Don and Jan Storbeck, second; and Jean Mahan and Ann Kent, third. East-west winners were: Helen Dahl and Jack Harris, first; Cliff and Sue Callahan, second; and Bill Porter and Glen Sizemore, third.
