Torch runner has local ties

— Debra A. Hughes Toney, granddaughter of the late Nathinea Leffall Sr. and Maggie Leffall and the niece of Cleveland A. Leffall and Viola Leffall, all of Muskogee, took part in the torch relay for the 2012 Olympics.

Toney, who is the immediate past president of the National Black Nurses Association, ran her leg of the relay at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
