New director of The Heart O’ The Hills Chorus is Alice Linskey.
She has been a Sweet Adeline since the mid-1990s. She first joined a chorus in the Flint, Mich., area and became assistant director, section leader, quartet member, and more. Since she has directed several small to mid-sized Sweet Adeline choruses in Michigan and Ontario, Canada.
Linskey moved to Oklahoma in January of 2006 to be director of education for Sweet Adelines International. Her background is a mix of being a music teacher for 10-plus years and in the computer industry for 20 years. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in music education and a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in educational administration.
Women who love to sing are invited to visit.
The chorus, a member chorus of Sweet Adelines International, meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays at Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Fine Arts Annex, Room 303.
