Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Newcomers are welcome. If you are interested in playing or learning to play duplicate bridge, call Ann Kent at (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole at (918) 684-9002.

• Aug. 15 — Sandy Cole and Santa McWilliams, first; Renee Tyrrell and Alice Barham, second in a 2 1/2 table game.

• Aug. 17 — Jane Lopes and Betty Jordan, first; Ann Kent and Ruth Sharpe, second; and Mary Smith and Ralph Parker, third in a 3 1/2 table game.

• Aug. 20 — Ann Kent and Jane Lopes, first; and Ruth Sharpe and Bonnie Jennings, second in a three table game.



Cruis’n Angels

Car Club

Cruis’n Angels Car Club members along with Oriental Masonic Lodge #430 have donated $7,000 to The Good Shepherd Health Clinic of Muskogee from proceeds from the 14th annual Cruis’n Angels/BancFirst Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show held May 19.

The club members with their classic cars can be found at 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday night, weather permitting, at the Sonic at York and Chandler roads.  From 5 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, Sonic hosts a fundraiser donating, 10 percent of its gross income to the club. The club in turn donates the money to the health clinic.  

Cruis’n Angels Car Club holds business meetings at 7 p.m. every second Monday at Hornback’s Restaurant on Peak Boulevard.

 Anyone owning a classic car, truck, or motorcycle that is interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.  



Cherokee County Democratic Party

The Cherokee County Democratic Party will host a reception for opening an office from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 4. The office is located at 420 S. Muskogee Ave. A monthly meeting and  pot luck dinner will follow the reception.

Upcoming activities for Muskogee New Friends:

• Sept. 5 — Daytime bridge — hearts and dominos play will resume in October.

• Sept. 6 — Red Cross blood drive. Call Pat Adams at (918) 687-5739 to volunteer.

• Sept. 7 — 10 a.m., board meeting at Odd Fellows Lodge.

• Sept. 10 — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Happy Quilters, St. Paul United Methodist Church.

• Sept. 14 — 9:30 a.m., general meeting, Odd Fellows Lodge.
