Relay For Life is recruiting for the 2013 Planning Committee
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a community event that takes place each spring to benefit the American Cancer Society and raise cancer awareness in Muskogee County. Members of the planning committee volunteer their time to help organize and host the Relay For Life each year, making the event a memorable, inspirational, and exciting occasion for all participants who attend, according to a media release.
The first meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Conference Room F.
The planning committee helps to organize the annual Relay For Life event — assisting with such aspects as marketing, team development, sponsorships, survivorship, logistics, entertainment, activities, ceremonies, food and hospitality, team recruitment and more. The planning committee meets in the evening time once per month beginning in September, until the annual event in May to discuss committee progress, tasks, and goals.
This past year, the Relay For Life of Muskogee County raised more than $50,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
