Connors State College in Muskogee and in Warner are teaming up with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to hold community blood drives.
The Muskogee campus blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday in the school’s eighth floor conference room at 201 Court St.
The Warner campus blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 in the school’s student lounge at 1000 College Road. All healthy adults, 17 and older are encouraged to donate blood.
During March, donors can support the local chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by forgoing an OBI T-shirt they would otherwise receive in appreciation for giving blood.
In turn, Oklahoma Blood Institute will make a monetary contribution of similar value to support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“We are proud to partner locally with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society,” said Dr. John Armitage, Oklahoma Blood Institute president and CEO. “This month, donors have the opportunity to ‘doubly give’ for Oklahomans with blood disorders . . . through the gifts of blood, and through the support of research and treatment initiatives.”
To make an appointment to donate, call Lyndsey Sharp at 687-6747, or Oklahoma Blood Institute at (877) 340-8777, or schedule online at www.obi.org.
