Muskogee Junior Achievement

The Muskogee Junior Achievement team will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 23 at NSU Muskogee.

Muskogee JA BizTown Dates for 2012-13 school year:

• Oct. 2 — Tony Goetz.

• Oct. 10 — Creek and Pershing.

• Oct. 17 — Whittier and Grant Foreman.

• Nov. 6 — Harris-Jobe.

• Dec. 11 — Irving and Cherokee.

• Feb. 1 — Ben Franklin.

Gore Chamber of Commerce

The Gore Chamber of Commerce will meet for a “Dutch Lunch” at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emily’s Tea Room and Garden Shop on Main Street in Gore. All members are invited and encouraged to attend this monthly meeting, as are all interested parties.

Agenda items for this meeting are expected to include firming up plans for “Run Gore,” the 5K run on Sept. 22, as well as for the Fall Cruz and Burnout in the evening of that same day.

“Run Gore” will start at approximately 8 a.m. along River Road. Applications are available on the Chamber’s website, GoreOK.net. A “Fun Run” will start at 7:30 a.m. before the main event.



Tenkiller Women’s Club

Tenkiller Women’s Club will hold its August luncheon and meeting at noon Wednesday at Fin & Feather Restaurant. Cost for the luncheon will be $10.95.

The program will be installation of officers for 2013. Members are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Cookson Baptist Food Pantry.

All women are invited to attend and, if desired, join the club. Reservations to be made no later than Monday by calling Barbara Downard, (918) 457-3439 or Pat Sharp, (918) 457-4419.



Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Newcomers are welcome. If you are interested in playing or learning to play duplicate bridge, call Ann Kent at (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole at (918) 684-9002.

• July 30 — Carol Ketchum and Joan Chapman, first; and Betty Jordan and Ruth Sharpe, second.

• Aug. 1 — Mary Hoover and Minnie Sheffield, first; and Janice Chance and Helen Richmond, second.

• Aug. 3 — Jane Lopes and Betty Jordan, first; Linda Stearnes and Norma Kolmer, second.

• Aug. 6 — Mary Smith and Ralph Parker, first; and Linda Stearnes and Norma Kolmer, second.

Gay Guthrie, Ann Kent, Jane Lopes and Betty Jordan recently attended the Tulsa Sectional tournament winning some black points.



Muskogee Soroptimist International

The Muskogee Soroptimist International will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Muskogee Public Library.

A “Wellness Program” will be presented by Martha Alford.
