Chapter AO of PEO

Chapter AO of PEO will meet on at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at McEntee’s. The program, presented by Trisha Baker from Eddie Warrior Women’s Prison, will follow lunch, and will be followed by a business meeting.



Muskogee Area Quilters Guild

The August meeting of the Muskogee Area Quilters Guild will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Nash Hall of The First Presbyterian Church, 5th and Broadway streets.

The program will be presented by Elsie Ridgley of Broken Arrow. She will speak about the Civil War Quilt she designed and made after researching and studying historical events about quilts and fabric from that time period. Ridgley is a part-time employee and teacher at the Cotton Patch Quilt Shop in Tulsa.

There will also be show and tell and door prizes. Everyone interested in quilting is invited to attend.

Delta Sigma Theta

The Muskogee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Inc. will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Muskogee Public Library. The next sorority year will be discussed.

Soroptimist International is a world-wide volunteer service organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

Toastmasters International

World Class Speakers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Three Rivers Museum to install new club officers for the 2012-13 year.

Area Governor Lindsey Williams will preside over the installation of new officers. Officers for the 2012-13 year are:

• President — Dr. Jack Janway.

• Vice President of Education — Keith Cundiff.

• Vice President of Public Relations — Rhonda Lee.

• Secretary/Treasurer — Paulette Lorsbach.

• Sergeant at Arms — Nicole Turley.

• Immediate Past President — Virgil Rose.

World Class Speakers meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at the museum, 220 Elgin St., and are open to the public.



Muskogee New Friends

Due to the extreme heat, the Aug. 10 general meeting for the Muskogee New Friends has been canceled.



NARFE

The Muskogee chapter of the National Association of Current and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd.

Guest speaker will be Mayor Bob Coburn.

A door prize will be drawn. All federal employees, members and guests are invited.



Tahlequah Aglow

Jeannie Fay will share her life story at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Go Ye Village, 2101 W. 4th St., Tahlequah.

Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $6.50.
