Muskogee County Historical Society
Muskogee County Historical Society will hold its monthly Dutch-treat lunch meeting at noon Thursday at “I’m A Basket Case,” 22 East Shawnee, Kmart Shopping Center.
Dr. Brad Agnew, professor of history at Northeastern State University, will review “Roots from the Cherokees, Promises for our Future.” Agnew is author of the chronicle of NSU, which has been nominated for the Oklahoma Book Award.

Keystone Study Club
Keystone Study Club met Monday in the home of Ann Kent with Jane Lopes serving as hostess.
Lopes gave the program. Current events were given by Kent, Barbara Newell and Sandi Rosson.
Kiwanis Club
Joan Brown and Betty Martin will bring a program on the Murrow Children’s Home when the Muskogee Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesday at the Muskogee Community Hospital training center, 2900 N. Main St.

Chapter EA, P.E.O.
Chapter EA, P.E.O. will meet Tuesday at Boulevard Christian Church, 1700 W. Shawnee. Social time will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Linda Bockius and Pam Littlefield will serve as hostesses. Election and installation of officers will be held, and the program will be tribute to officers.
Checotah
Books-Sandwiched-In
Judy Howard of Buckboard Quilts will be the speaker for the monthly Books-Sandwiched-In at the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library program on Wednesday.
Howard will display her quilts themed “Thanking Our Troops” and offer her quilting books for sale. Lunch will be served by the Red Hat Society for $3 and begins at 11:30 a.m. The book review begins at noon.
P.E.O. Chapter AO
“I Wish I Would Read More Good Books” is the program scheduled for the Thursday meeting of P.E.O. Chapter AO at the home of Mary Ann Couch.
Connie Stout will be presenting a book review on one such “good” book that will inspire others to take the time to read more. Her presentation will be followed by a book exchange and recommendations from the membership for reading suggestions from their own libraries.
A business meeting for the nomination, election, and installation of 2010-11 officers will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. Bring your favorite selections and authors to exchange.

The Muskogee Indian Territory Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. March 20 at Lucy Peters Hall on the Bacone College campus.
Guest speaker will be Vicki Liebig, admission and marketing director of Country Gardens Assisted Living in Muskogee and vice president of CHOPE Christians Helping Older People Every Day.
Adelaide Johnson will be hostess.
Interested guests are welcome.

Duplicate Bridge
Recent winners in the Green Country Duplicate Bridge games were March 1, club championship game — first, Dave Murdock and Flora DeBartolo; second, Ruth Sharpe and Joan Chapman; third, Ralph Parker and Lind Stearns.
Wednesday there was a first-second tie between Jean Mahan and Janice Chance with Sandra Cole and Santa McWilliams, third, Bill Porter and Flora DeBartolo; and fourth, Dean Cousparis and Ralph Jones. Friday the junior fund game winners were first, Ruth Sharpe and Bonnie Jennings; second, Norma Kolmer and George Blaylock; third, Mary Smith and Ralph Parker; and fourth, Velma Sweet and Werner Wagner.
Bill and Nettie Kaad names were left off of the Feb. 24 winners. They tied for third and fourth place with Dave Murdock and Ann Kuykendall.

New Friends
Muskogee New Friends board meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Odd Fellows Building, 720 W. Broadway, for the annual Potato Bake. Bring your best salad, side dish or dessert. Club will provide potatoes and toppings.

Muskogee Chapter of the National Association of Retired and Current Federal Employees will meet at 1:30 p.m. THursday at Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spalding Blvd.
Speaker will be Barbara Skaggs, who will provide Information for parents and grandparents regarding filters on computers.
A door prize will be drawn. Federal employees, members and guests are welcome.
