TULSA — Grammy-award winning musician Peter Frampton will perform hits such as “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “I’m in You” at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at the Osage Event Center.
Frampton's international breakthrough 1976 album, Frampton Comes Alive!, sold over 16 million copies and is one of the most successful live recordings of all time. He is known for hits such as “Do You Feel Like We Do” and “Show Me the Way.”
His latest album, Fingerprints, earned Frampton a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2007. This followed the 2003 release, Now, and the 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the 1976 Frampton Comes Alive.
Frampton's trademark guitar sound is the talk box, a device that allows the guitar to appear to “speak” on songs. He was introduced to the talk box while recording with ex-Beatle George Harrison in 1971.
Frampton was named “The Face of 1968” by the English press and went solo in 1971. He became a successful child singer playing Buddy Holly songs with classmate David Bowie. He scored a handful of British teenybopper hits.
Frampton has worked with Matt Cameron from Soundgarden, and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam.
Tickets to see Peter Frampton on Thursday, July 23, can be purchased by visiting the Osage Event Center Box Office, 951 W. 36th Street North, Tulsa, OK 74127.
