A recent meeting held at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame brought together, for the first time, the state agencies and local supporters necessary to move forward the Oklahoma Music Trail.
The Trail would consist of 100 interpretive markers in the shape of music notes across the state to honor musicians with Oklahoma roots or historic music-related venues.
The OMHOF has been designated to oversee the trail.
We are glad to see the meeting take place. The meeting was necessary to push the project forward, including work on possible funding.
We are all for the Trail. It would highlight our state’s rich history.
It would draw attention to the OMHOF, which we hope will continue to grow into a major tourist attraction for our city and state.
We applaud OMHOF past president Max Boydstun for his leadership in the Trail project, and his contributions to the OMHOF itself.
Without civic-minded leaders such as Boydstun, projects such as this would remain only dreams.
We know there are a lot of people who worked hard to help move this project forward. We thank them as well.
However, all major projects need dedicated leaders and we proud of Boydstun’s continued contributions to the OMHOF and Trail.
