Congratulations to President Sue Harris and her staff at the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.
Last month, the chamber received three awards at the annual Redbud Awards at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The awards, which result from a partnership between the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, are the highest honors presented in the tourism industry in the state.
The Muskogee chamber earned recognition for Best Web Site, Best Brochure/Publication: Single Sheet, and Tourism Organization of the Year.
The chamber in Muskogee is very active and productive, as the awards attest. When officials in Muskogee were looking for a group to handle city tourism several years ago, they made a good choice in allowing the chamber to handle that responsibility.
Tourism is an important facet of any city’s economy, and the chamber has established a firm foundation in improving Muskogee’s ability to attract tourism dollars.
