The cornerstone of our nation’s foundation can’t be altered with any single election.
Results of any election are not final determination of our nation’s strength.
Rather, it is the process of the election that separates the United States of America from many nations around the globe.
It is our right to go to the polls and involve ourselves in the process of governing ourselves.
Your vote counts.
That is the logo the Phoenix used to highlight a series on the candidates for today’s election.
Today’s election has many in our community feeling it is time to be heard.
We applaud that attitude. Your vote counts in every election, no more so than today.
There will never be a more important vote cast than the one you cast with each new election.
For those who can vote in today’s primary, a vote today is not just for the candidate of your choice.
A vote today is for the American way of life. Not Republican. Not Democrat. Not Tea Party or Libertarian or Green.
A vote today says you appreciate the ultimate sacrifce so many have made so you may go to the polls without fear. And that you know the election is fair and honest.
Unfortunately, of those who can vote in the primary, not enough will take advantage of a sacred right protected by our military.
The Phoenix Editorial Board chose to endorse candidates only for the general election Nov. 2.
In the past, we have endorsed candidates for primary elections.
Our goal in endorsing candidates is not to tell readers from whom they should vote. It is just to create a jumping off point for the discusssion.
It is far more important to focus on the process of the election today than to focus on the outcomes.
The process is what makes the U.S. special, not the outcome.
Vote.
