Dr. Rachael Christen Hogan and Matthew Thomas Starks were married at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Little Log Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn., with the father of the bride officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Michael and Rebecca Hogan of Lee’s Summit, Mo., previously of Muskogee, and granddaughter of Jack and Minnie Hogan of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Ernest and Flora Christensen of Lizton, Ind.
The groom is the son of Bonnie Gibson of Ellijay, Ga., and the late Jimmy Starks, and grandson of Eddie and Winnie Gibson of Ellijay, and Dewey and Hazel Jackson of Marietta, Ga.
Maid of honor was Lauren Michel Hogan of Lee’s Summit. Best man was Jeremy Dirksen of Edmond. Michael Myers of Jamestown, Ind., was the ring bearer. Chris Starks of Kennesaw, Ga., was an usher.
A reception followed the ceremony at Ken Knights Wilderness Lodge in Gatlinburg.
The bride, a 2000 graduate of Muskogee High School, graduated from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. She is a clinical pharmacist at Kansas City Veteran’s Hospital. The groom attended Appalachian Technical College and is self-employed.
Following a honeymoon to the U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple is at home in Lee’s Summit.
