Mr. and Mrs. Terry Groom of Muskogee announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Elizabeth, to Michael Torres, son of Ralph and Maria Torres of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Groom is the granddaughter of W.H. “Bill” and Doris Ricketts, Wanda Groom and the late Buford Groom, all of Muskogee. Groom, formerly an overseas aid worker, is the family advocate at Kids’ Space Child Advocacy Center in Muskogee.
Torres served honorably in the United States Air Force and is employed as a firefighter for the Department of Defense in Texas.
Eighth-grade sweethearts, the couple will marry this summer at a family wedding.
