Announcement is made of the marriage of Verna Diebold and Dale Lathrop at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Church in Muskogee with Father Bryan Brooks officiating.
Parents of the bride are the late Louis and Inez Diebold of the Fort Gibson area. The groom is the son of Laura Lathrop and the late Eddie Lathrop of Des Moines, Iowa.
Bridesmaids will be sisters of the bride, Pat McLaren of Tyler, Texas, and Anita Brown of Allen, Texas.
Groomsmen will be the groom’s sons, Eric Lathrop of Tahlequah and Bryan Lathrop of Springdale, Ark.
Candlelighters will be Shelby Knight, great-niece of the bride, and Nik Brown, nephew of the bride.
Flower girls and ring bearer will be great-nieces and nephew of the bride, Hannah and Rachel Raymond and Logan McLaren.
Ushers will be Doug Diebold, Jeff Diebold, David Diebold, Neil Hays and Tristen Whitekiller, nephews of the bride.
Following the ceremony, there will be a reception at St. Joseph Parish Hall. Assisting are sisters of the bride, Diane McKinzie, Mary Miller, Linda Whitekiller and LaDonna Diebold. Nieces helping are Angela Nemecek and Amber Stark.
Giving away the bride will be the bride’s brother, Douglas Diebold of Fort Gibson.
The bride graduated from Oklahoma State University and is a retired teacher. The groom is employed by Doric Vaults in Tulsa. They will reside in Muskogee.
