Clarence “Gene” and Wanda Haase will celebrate 61 years of marriage this month. The Haases were married on Jan. 11, 1952, in Roswell, N.M. They lived in Hobbs, N.M., for 25 years where Gene worked in the oilfield and Wanda worked as an LPN at Lee County General Hospital.
After leaving New Mexico, they moved to Oklahoma, settling in Muskogee in 1985 after retiring. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Muskogee.
They have four children, Wayne Conner of Corning, Calif.; John Conner of Midland, Texas; David Haase, of Lillington, N.C.; and Donna Brendle of Muskogee.
