Ishmael and Ruby King (Bolden) of Muskogee announce the engagement of their daughter LaKira Amesheia King, 27, to Kenneth Marquise Garrett, 22.
LaKira was born and raised in Muskogee. Her grandparents are the late Nathaniel and Addie King and Jessie and Mallie Bolden.
She is a 2003 graduate of Muskogee High School, as well as Indian Capitol Technology Center, where she obtained her cosmetology license. She is the co-owner and worker at God’s Helping Hands Salon in Muskogee, and she also works fulltime at Bios for six years, assisting people with disabilities. She also enjoys doing what she loves most of all, singing. She is a member of Greater Canaan Baptist Church.
Kenneth was born and raised in Oklahoma City. His parents are Anita Garrett and Michael Cole. His grandparents are Jessie Logan, and the late Leo and Leava Cole.
He is a 2009 graduate of Crooked Oak High School. After graduation, he attended West Texas, NEO and is currently enrolled at NSU Tahlequah, where he has a full scholarship. His major is business, and pursuing his dream of playing football. he plans to take it all the way.
The bride and groom have set their date for May 18, 2013. This is the day they will say “I do,” exchange vows and share their love with all their loved ones and friends.
