It is Super Bowl Sunday, and those who watch will have a chance to see teamwork in action. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints are winning NFL teams that will play for the championship.
The broadcast will also include the work of other winning teams in their respective businesses that are responsible for putting on the show. CBS Television has assembled their best team of broadcasters, directors, cameramen and crew. The show will include the best in music entertainment including Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inductee Carrie Underwood.
When Carrie was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame she brought her amazing team to Muskogee, and that included her band, public relations person, security, makeup artist and more. All were professionals lending their expertise to her team.
Halftime entertainment is sure to guarantee a star team performance from The Who that says “We Won’t Get Fooled Again” by one of rock ‘n’ roll’s legendary bands.
The Super Bowl commercials are also very entertaining and represent the best the industry has to offer, and they have been written, recorded and edited by great production company teams.
Vince Lombardi said, “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.”
Coach Lombardi was so right, and it is true for football teams, legendary performers and the business world. Good teamwork produces winners.
The acronym TEAM, which stands for Together Everyone Achieves More, is a motto every business should live by. This is certainly true of the Muskogee Chamber. The Muskogee Chamber is a group of more than 700 Muskogee area businesses, both large and small, that join together to make a team that works together with a goal of making Muskogee a good place to live and work. Each year, usually in January, the Chamber congratulates our teams of volunteers at the Annual Chamber Banquet. Awards are given out, and accomplishments are celebrated for the outstanding teamwork that committees of volunteers have worked on together.
Andrew Carnegie said, “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”
Together Everyone Achieves More.
This year, because of the weather, we have rescheduled our annual banquet to Feb. 18 at the Muskogee Civic Center, and we look forward to congratulating our members and volunteers on their outstanding teamwork.
But, today is Super Bowl Sunday, the French dip roast is in the Crock-Pot, and the brownies are in the oven and as we settle in to watch the game, the commercials and our very own Carrie Underwood sing the national anthem, let us be reminded of the teamwork that is taking place right before our eyes. May the best team win!
